The Holy of Holies

    Picture

    The Holy of Holies

Inside of this ½ Scale Model, we just have fabric for the walls, but the walls of the Holy Place and Holy of Holies were pure gold over Acacia wood… The Holy of Holies was a perfect 15 foot cube.

The Ark of the Covenant and the Mercy Seat were in here…. The Ark of the Covenant is the bottom part here, and the Mercy Seat is on top with the Angels kneeling, facing each other, with their wings touching….

These two articles were the very FIRST articles that God described to Moses when He was giving him instructions… God's seat was the very center of importance, the very FIRST thing needed...  when they would travel to another location, in the wilderness, the Ark of the Covenant was carried in front, and the when a new site was reached, the Ark of the Covenant was set down, and the rest of the Tabernacle was built AROUND it…. just like God in our lives... we can't fix our life up and then bring God in... we bring God in, and THEN He will help us to fix our life up.

Notice it is called the Ark of the Covenant... what covenant is it talking about?  The Blood Covenant that God made between Abraham and Himself… and perfected by Christ Jesus, as He was a mediator of a new and better covenant (see Hebrews 12:24)... A Covenant is an agreement, a really strong agreement, where each looks out for each other, and for each others' families.... That is the way our Covenant with God goes, If we seek and serve Him and teach His statutes to our children, then we will be blessed in the field, and in the house, coming and going... with healing, prosperity, strength, etc.  (see Deuteronomy 6)

Inside of the Ark of the Covenant, were three things... a jar of Manna, which represents God's provision for our Bodies.... the Ten Commandments, which represent the Law, and is there for our Souls... and the Rod of Aaron, (the one that budded to show that Aaron and his family were chosen to be Priests) which represents the priestly service, which is for our Spiritual Life....

The Mercy Seat... oh, beautiful Mercy.... Remember we said that we can enter here boldly through the blood of Jesus.... well, the Word also says that we can "come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need." (Hebrews 4:16)  Countless millions have come to the altar and found mercy... we reach up to our wonderful maker, and through the precious blood of His Son, we find forgiveness, love, and peace... oh sweet Mercy....

Now I mentioned the Day of Atonement, when the High Priest, once a year, confessed the sins of the people, and his own sins, and made a special sacrifice, cleansed himself, and then walked into the Holy of Holies... well, Leviticus 16:14 says that the High Priest sprinkled blood on the east side of the Mercy Seat, with his finger, seven times...  Seven times... think about it, the blood was sprinkled seven times...

    Come boldly
unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help
    in time of need.
    Hebrews 4:16
