  Tabernacle of Moses

The Eastern Gate

    Picture

    The Eastern Gate

Now come on in through the Eastern Gate, and notice that there is only one entrance to the Tabernacle… you can’t get in on the southern side, the western side, or the northern side… there is only one way in… only One Way….

    Jesus said….
“I am the Way,  the Truth, and the Life, and no man cometh to the Father, except through Me.”  John 14:6
    He also said….
“I am the gate; whoever enters through Me
    will be saved.” John 10:9

The gate was always located on the Eastern side of the Tabernacle so that people were facing west when they entered the Tabernacle… this was in direct opposition to the pagan sun worshippers of the day who always faced east when they prayed…  When we enter the Eastern Gate, we have turned our backs on the ways of this world… We are headed for a Spiritual experience with our Creator…

Notice the white curtains, the fence… They were White Linen, which signifies Righteousness in Revelation 19:8. God in His nature is right and just. He therefore expects us, His created people, to be in right standing with Him…

The Outer Court was 150 feet by 75 feet… The sides were seven and a half feet tall… The 12 tribes of Israel were camped outside, all around, and God was right at the center of their lives... right where He wants to be... in your life and mine…

So God gave Moses a pattern… a Plan…. Exact specifications for building the Tabernacle… and I believe that He did this to show us that He has a pattern for our lives… He has a wonderful plan for each of us… we’re not an accident, or a big bang from nature, we were wonderfully designed and created by an awesome God... and AS He knit us together in our mother's womb, He knew us...

The Hebrew people, the Children of Israel, were out in the wilderness, so the Tabernacle was built out of their possessions... gold, silver, brass, precious stones, fabrics, etc., that were given to them by the Egyptian people before the Jews left Egypt.  Remember Moses told Pharoh, "Let my people go," and the Pharoh said "no,"... so the ten plagues came... and by the time the first born sons of the Egyptians were killed... and the Pharoh finally released the Israelites from slavery, the Egyptian people were saying, "go, go, get out of here, take these gifts, leave, here you can have this, and this, just leave..."

The Lord called people, by name, and filled them with His Spirit, in wisdom, and in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship to devise cunning works, and that they may make all that He has commanded them...
    (See Exodus 36)
This is encouraging to me, because it tells me that God will show me how, and give me understanding and knowledge, to do the things that I need to do for Him....

And when Moses asked for offerings, for the necessary building supplies,  the Hebrew Children gave and gave... and gave so much that finally Moses had to say, o.k. we've got enough.  (Can you imagine a Televangelist today telling people to NOT send money, because they've got enough?)

The Tabernacle was all Jointly Fitted Together, with Clasps, and Ropes, and was a large Unit…. And, I believe, that is how our Lord wants His people to be…
